DIY kitchen projects can make a world of difference to the appearance and function of your kitchen – and they don’t have to take a long time.

Instead of trying to renovate your kitchen completely, consider one of these simple DIY kitchen projects you could do in just a weekend:

1. Refurbish your cabinets.

If you were planning on a complete kitchen remodel, your cabinets would probably take most of your budget. However, in the span of a weekend, there are two simple things you can do that would change the whole look of your cabinetry.

First, you could replace just some of your cabinets. You could replace the most well-worn of your current cabinets with exact replacements that match your current cabinet set – or try some “statement piece” cabinets that add a fresh design appeal to your kitchen.

Alternatively, you could just replace the cabinet hardware. New stainless-steel knobs or pulls will make your kitchen look sleek and modern!

2. Paint your kitchen walls.

If you need a new look but only have a limited budget, try painting your kitchen walls.

A fresh coat of paint will bring new life to your kitchen, whether you paint the entire kitchen or just an accent wall. White and cream-colored kitchens are always a classic choice, but any light, bright color will make your kitchen feel spacious and clean.

3. Install new countertops. RTA Wood Cabinets

New countertop options are getting more and more popular each and every year. There are several options that are both functional and beautiful. Some of the most sought-after countertop materials are granite, marble, wood, and laminates.

Best of all, you don’t have to replace all your countertops. One trending look for 2021 is to have your kitchen island feature a different material for the countertop, so it’s an opportunity to try something new and refresh your look without needing a massive investment of money or time.

4. Replace your faucet.

If you want to change the look of your sink, maybe all you need is just a new faucet?

Not only would a glistening new faucet add extra shine to your kitchen, a modern faucet can add functionality to your cooking prep and cleaning routines too. If it’s your first-time trying a DIY plumbing project, just be sure to shut off your water valves before you begin and follow the installation instructions carefully.

5. Upgrade some appliances.

If you want to save money and also help the environment, why not turn to energy efficient appliances? Start with your old dishwasher or whatever appliance that’s using up the most electricity. Introducing just one or two new appliances will not only make your kitchen more functional, but give your kitchen a fresh new start for 2021.
