Are the outside of the cabinets finished?

The outside side panels for most of our collections are finished so you don’t need an extra skin unless you want decorative doors. Do you have Glass Doors?

Yes, we have Glass doors for most of our collections in a few different styles and sizes, we have Mullion glass doors, prairie glass doors and plain glass doors. The frames are 1 1/2" wide, so this means that 1/4" of the frame is generally exposed around the edges of the door and drawer fronts. For a frame-less cabinet the door will cover the full front of the cabinet with about 1/16" of the sides exposed.

How are the cabinets delivered?

We ship with a common carrier and they will contact you in advance to set up a delivery appointment. All deliveries are curb side, if there is a long driveway most of the carriers will not drive in and leave it at the curb off the main street.

How should I prepare for delivery?

Try to give yourself a few extra days from when your cabinets are delivered to you needing to install them or scheduling your contractor this way in the event there is a damaged part or missing item it leaves you with enough time to get a replacement and avoid having to reschedule your contractor. You should make sure to have somebody there to help you carry the cabinets in as all deliveries are curbside delivery.

What happens if I get a damaged cabinet or something is missing?

Please count and examine all packages at time of delivery. If there is a shortage please note which items are missing on the delivery receipt before signing and send the list to our Customer Service Department customerservice@rtawoodcabinets.com RTA Wood Cabinets cannot be held liable if you sign for your order without noting that pieces are missing. You will be responsible for re-ordering any missing pieces so please make sure to do a thorough check when your order comes. If any items are damaged upon delivery please note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing it and accept the item. If there is concealed damaged we must be notified within 3 days to enable us to replace parts or the damaged product at no cost to you.

Will I receive a new cabinet if something is damaged in the box?

Depending on the damage, in most cases a replacement part will be sent, not an entire new cabinet. The manufacturer reserves the right to determine the most cost effective and efficient method to correct the damage and/or defective cabinets/accessories. For example if a door is cracked, you would receive a new door not a whole new cabinet, for a damaged side panel you would usually receive a replacement panel.

What happens if I get a damaged 4x8 Panel?

Due to the size of the 4x8 panel they are difficult to ship and are more prone to  minor damage like chips on the edges, being that they are generally used for the back of an island and will be cut down from 48" to 34 1/2" there will usually be enough material for your project without a replacement, if you need the full panel we will replace it. Please note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing it.

What if I receive damages on an Assembled cabinet order?

The cabinet manufacturers reserve the right to determine the most cost effective and efficient method to correct damaged items as a result of manufacturer defect or freight/shipping damage. This may not involve a total cabinet/accessory replacement. For example, a cabinet with a damaged door would receive a new door - not an entirely new cabinet. Do not install the cabinet before reaching out to us and sending us pictures of the damage.

Should I assemble cabinets with damages if I’m just waiting for a part?

No, if any cabinets are damaged, please do not assemble these cabinets. The pictures needed by our claims department must be unassembled cabinets. Due to manufacturer guidelines, replacement parts will not be issued for cabinets that are already assembled because the manufacturer does not know the damage did not occur during assembly. Please leave any damaged cabinets unassembled until customer service lets you know it is ok to proceed with assembly.

What do I need to do on delivery besides unload the cabinets/accessories?

1. It is extremely important that you do a piece count and make sure all ordered pieces are there (unless you’ve been informed of any out of stock items). Some pieces may be packaged together, i.e. crown molding, fillers, etc… If you can, open any accessory boxes while the driver is there to make sure all pieces are accounted for, if you’re not able to, mark the Bill of Lading (BOL – shipping paperwork that the driver has) that you weren’t able to verify the piece count in that specific box. If there is anything missing, it must be noted on the BOL. Make sure to get a copy of the BOL with the driver’s signature and that the driver has a copy noting any shortages, we will need a copy sent to us to process your replacement order. If shortages are not noted on the BOL, we will not be able to reship these items for no charge.

2. In addition to doing a piece count, you want to check each box for visible damage. The trucking company is required to let you check the outside of each box. You do not need to open each box, just check over the outside for cracks, dents, holes, etc… If the driver tells you they will not wait for you to check over the boxes, call the trucking company and explain that you need to note any visible damage on the BOL and the driver is giving you a hard time (this is not very common). The number to the trucking company will be on the BOL. The boxes are checked in the warehouses before being shipped out, however, as soon as the trucking company picks up your order, they are responsible for any damages that occur in transit and will only approve replacements if the damages are noted on the shipping paperwork (Bill of Lading – BOL) on your delivery.

Is there a warranty?

The Highland, Oxford and Casselberry collections have a limited lifetime warranty. The Essex, Trenton and Yarmouth collections have a 5 year warranty, The Amesbury, Upton Brown and Harbor collections have a 1 year warranty. The Horizon collections have a 3 year warranty. The manufacturer may elect to repair or replace any product covered by this warranty. Natural variations in wood grain or color may cause your cabinet to not exactly match the original sample or be exactly the same as one another, this is due to the natural characteristics of wood grain and color. Additionally, the characteristic of wood is to expand and contract over time. As such hairline cracks and/or finish stress lines may become visible on painted or stained mitered doors or wooden joints, and is not considered a defect.

Can I cancel my order or make revisions?

Once an order ships out we can’t cancel it, After the order is placed but before it ships we usually can't make any revisions and if we have to cancel it there is a 25% Restock fee from the manufacturer for credit card and warehouse handling.

Will I be able to accept my delivery by myself?

Many cabinets will be very large and heavy (in excess of 100 lbs) so having 1 or 2 additional people to help is highly recommended. The delivery drivers work for the freight companies (not RTAWoodCabinets.com) and for insurance purposes, are not able to assist in unloading any cabinets so he or she would not be able to help during this process.

Will I be reimbursed for any labor or time needed to repair any damaged cabinets?

If replacements parts are needed, RTAWoodCabinets.com is only responsible for providing those parts. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reimburse any additional costs of labor incurred by the customer to replace or repair damaged cabinets.

What is your return policy?

In order to make a return you must contact us within 7 days of delivery. Returns must be authorized by one of our representatives. All items must be unassembled in its original unopened packaging. There is a 25% restocking fee on all returns. The customer is responsible for shipping the items back to us and for the original freight cost if there was free shipping.
